Welcome to K-12 Faith Formation
Authentically Catholic
Sometimes we may think of Faith Formation as merely another program in which to enroll our children. But, what is really being offered, is a relationship/friendship with the Living God. Faith Formation is about sharing this friendship with others; providing opportunities to learn and experience the life changing power of God Himself. It is about a friendship with a God who is real, who comes, who visits, who is interested, who reveals himself, who heals/forgives and who invites us to participate in His very divine life. Lets always keep in our hearts the words of Pope Benedict XVI when he says, “Life is being in relationship with God. When we are in relationship with the one who lives, then we love, then we truly love & have hope that lasts.”
Why do I send my children to Faith Formation? – Parent “Because every time they feel vulnerable, every time they feel fear or confusion or anxiety, instead of running to things to grasp at, to cover, to numb, I want them to know to turn to Jesus. I want them to have intimacy with Jesus, to be still, silent, to pray. Ultimately, I want them to go to the place of their heart where the Lord dwells. It is there they will find the power to be transformed in Christ; bringing to them real peace and joy.” FLOCKNOTE

YOUTH RETREATS/TESTIMONIES
One sentence. It only took one sentence to give me a new vision of the faith. “God has so much more to tell me.” Throughout the NET retreat, that one phrase was repeated numerous times and if I am being completely honest, I had never looked at my relationship with God in this way before. In today’s culture, it is so easy to be distracted, lost, and confused about a true vision for your life. Oftentimes, we do all of the talking in prayer instead of allowing God to give us his wisdom and encouragement. God has a plan for us that is greater than we could ever imagine and we will never come to know his unconditional love if we do not listen to him. On this day, God used the joy and faith of the NET team to change my life. God not only speaks to us in prayer, but also through the people and circumstances we experience daily. God is saying to you today, “I have so much more to tell you!” Kelcie Pung |
My name is Paige Thelen and I am a freshman at Fowler High School. I have been preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation this year and therefore went on the NET retreat recently. I enjoyed the NET retreat because there were various interactive activities and testimonials that helped prepare me for the sacrament. During the retreat, one of my favorite parts was when our small groups acted out different Bible passages. Another highlight of the retreat was having some time for Adoration. Adoration was beneficial because it is hard to find this time with the busyness of high school. In one of the talks, they made a thought provoking analogy: We are like a flashlight and the two batteries are Baptism and Confirmation. Once we have received these sacraments we have the choice to flip the switch on and spread the light of Christ. Overall, this retreat really helped me realize what it means to be Confirmed. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit is sealing us and sending us out into the world, to be in the world, but not of the world.
